employee interview
Jakob
Senior developer
"It’s just as fun and inspiring today as it was five years ago, and that’s what keeps me here!"

What does a typical workday look like for you?
I work closely with my teammates. We discuss design and solve problems, either related to the product itself or to the development process. I also stay in touch with the client and their stakeholders to help solve technical challenges. And on top of that, I still get to do some programming. My role is more architectural than purely development-focused. I make sure our deliveries maintain high quality and that we’re building the right things.
During the first hour of the day, I usually work independently, following up on emails and checking how things are running in production. The rest of the day often includes conversations with the team, meetings with the client, and towards the end of the day, a check-in with the team or some focused individual work. As I said, my job is very varied!
What made you decide to join Omegapoint?
The competence culture! I quickly realized that there are so many people here who are eager to share their knowledge and who have a strong drive to keep learning and become experts. And it’s not something people keep to themselves, they genuinely want to share it. It’s just as inspiring today as it was five years ago, and that’s what keeps me here.
What’s the best part about your role?
As an architect, the most rewarding part is when you find a solution to a problem the client couldn’t solve themselves — and then get to deliver that solution in a real project. Making someone’s work life easier is the best feeling! I have direct contact with the client, and together with my team, we solve their challenges and deliver tangible results.
How would you describe the culture at Omegapoint?
Inclusive and confident! We believe we’re good at what we do — and we really are. It all goes back to our competence culture: the constant learning, and the mutual respect among skilled colleagues. We’re ready, eager, and always willing to share our knowledge.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?
To stop time — so I could catch up on sleep and then start it again! I want to fit as much as possible into 24 hours without ever feeling tired. (edited)
